How to Find a Florist

Florals can be the most important or least important aspect of your wedding. Many brides are opting to do less or no florals at all. Here are some tips on how to pick a florist and some tips on alternatives to traditional florals:

  • Before meeting with a florist:

  • Get recommendations from photographers, your planners, and your venue.

  • Look at galleries and Instagram photos of the florist’s work. Save photos of arrangements that you like.

  • Create a list of all of the different arrangements you will need: how many boutonnieres, how many wristlets, how many bouquets, how many aisles for aisle décor, etc.

  • Research the flowers available for your time of year

  • During your meeting don’t forget to ask about:

  • Floral flat lays for detail shots

  • Delivery charge

  • How long do they need to set up?

  • Not going for traditional florals?

  • Don’t overlook rentals and faux flowers if you’re on a budget!

  • You can make faux flower bouquets at Michael’s or Hobby Lobby for a fraction of the price! Don’t forget to look up coupons before you go.

  • Make sure you use green floral tape to tie them together to keep it looking “real”

  • Consider other decor instead of traditional florals. The bride below used faux flowers for her arch, faux vines and pumpkins for her fall wedding:

  • Consider wooden flowers for your bouquet. This bride only got one bouquet for herself, none for her bridesmaids and they looked so real!

However you decide to do or not do your florals remember to stay true to yourself and don’t feel pressured to do anything the traditional way unless you want to. There are so many décor options out there! Pin them all!
